Now that I’ve moved to Pismo Beach I’m trying to squeeze my “stuff” into a house half the size of the Sebastopol home I sold. I have to throw or give “stuff” away. I gleefully tossed a lot of my “working” clothes and love spending the day in jeans and shorts. How many pots, pans and appliances does one really need?

I plan to toss out more "stuff" but I’m having a real problem getting rid of books.

My husband doesn’t understand why I keep books I've read. He doesn’t like watching a movie a second time either. If I had a walk-in closet I’d have a mini library. Space is at a premium in my small house and I have books tucked under my bed, in the truck of my car and in a bulging suitcase in the backyard shed.

Am I totally weird or do any of you have the same problem?

I keep books I love, stacks and stacks of them, and my movie collection is huge! I love rereading those keepers, and I love watching those movies time and again. So no, I don't think you're weird at all!
You poor baby! Doug just built book shelves into my office here in Cobb--sixty linear feet of shelves...I'm just hoping my books will fit, as I doubt I can squeeze more out of him, but there is no way I'm giving up books I may read half a dozen times. Good luck on the move. I'm doing the same here, but at least the houses are the same size.
BJ--Pismo Beach?!?! Oh that's fantastic!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!! As for finding space for books, I'm in the same position you are. I can never find enough space and am constantly whittling them down to the A+ ones. I kind of like doing that, actually. It's fun to know that every book I still have is one of my absolute favorites.

Congrats on the great move. I'm so happy for you
